Brooke Mueller's Divorce Gets Big Buzz on the Web

Actor Charlie Sheen has filed for divorce from his third wife, Brooke Mueller.
News of the split caused searches on "brooke mueller" to soar 4,000% in just one day. Interest also rose on "brooke mueller biography," and "brooke mueller sheen" on Yahoo! search.
The "Two and a Half Men" star filed divorce papers on Monday, after being released from a hospital in New York where he had been recovering from a rampage in his room at the luxury Plaza Hotel. Sheen is seeking shared custody of their one-and-a-half year-old twins.

Much of the attention has been focused on Sheen's troubles as he heads in and out of rehab, accused of domestic abuse and drug use. But less is known about his third mate.
The former actress came into focus during a public fight in Aspen last Christmas, when Sheen was jailed for threatening his wife. The two agree that day marked their separation. Sheen was sentenced to probation and domestic violence counseling.
Mueller has filed her own divorce papers, seeking primary custody of their children with visitation rights for Sheen.
The former actress appeared in a handful of Hollywood productions, such as the 1999 B-horror movie "Witchouse" and the 2004 John Travolta drama "A Love Song for Bobby Long." The Palm Beach, Florida, native had since left the acting business to become a real estate investor.

In 2006 pals Eric Dane (star of "Grey's Anatomy") and Rebecca Gayheart introduced the couple. Sheen proposed in 2008 in Costa Rica, sealing the deal with a $500,000 11-carat yellow diamond. She was 30. He was 42.
In March, 2009, the blond beauty gave birth to twins, Bob and Max. The couple's happiness appears to have been short-lived. Nine months later, Sheen allegedly threatened Mueller in Aspen, which according to both of them, was the beginning of the end.
